Hello friends! My name is Angela and I am beyond excited to serve as your Vice President Internal for this year! I am from a beautiful Northern San Diego town called Oceanside. Growing up I never knew anything about engineering nor had any family members who were engineers. I just knew I was intrigued by math and science and kept with it, now here I am, about to graduate and make a difference in the built environment.
What I am most excited to see this year from ASCE is the growth in our family and the professional development that will accrue.
As Vice President Internal, I coordinate not only the General Body Meetings, but I also plan Professional Development Day. This career fair event happens every Fall, where over 300 students are able to network and potentially find their future internship and/or internship. About 60 Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering companies attend this event and knowing how this event can change the future of civil engineering students is very humbling.
Not only has ASCE helped me with my professional development, but it has given me an extended family that I know will always be there in the future.
