My name is Rachel Reardon and I am a Senior at San Diego State University. Born and raised in San Diego, I've always enjoyed solving puzzles and constructing "Assembly Required" furniture from Ikea, but hadn't quite learned of engineering at the time. A program called Project Lead the Way allowed me to take engineering design classes in High School, which helped me realize my passion for Civil Engineering. I first joined ASCE during my Freshman year here at San Diego State University, and loved everything about the organization. ASCE has challenged me to work harder, become a leader, meet new friends, and encourage new members to get involved and see the difference in their own college experiences. I later moved into an officer position with ASCE, from Historian, to Outreach Chair, to the Vice President Internal, and now the PSWC Chair. My goals this year are to host a successful Professional Development Day, seek out guest speakers for our Biweekly Meetings, and motivate our members to join and become a part of our ASCE family!
