My name is Frankie Abbott and I am in my third year as a student of San Diego State University. I have always had an interest in helping people throughout high school using what I learned in class and that usually led to tutoring. Graduating high school in Nuevo, California, I was hoping to use my abilities to teach mathematics. I was convinced by one of my teachers to look elsewhere with my talents and found Civil Engineering after a significant amount of research. With this career path, I can use what I learned in the classroom to help others and develop the evolving world we live in. Straight into my freshmen year at college, I joined ASCE to help myself attain the goals I wanted to achieve professionally and socially. I already had the ability to learn the concepts of engineering, but ASCE helped me develop my abilities to work with others. Now this year as the PSWC Representative and the Concrete Canoe Hull Design Captain, I will use everything in my power to represent our chapter professionally and help as many people I can on the way.
