My name is Michaela and I am passionate about the communities I am a part of and bringing people closer together. I am from a town in the Bay Area called Castro Valley. I decided I wanted to be a Civil Engineer after I completed my Gold Award project in high school, which focused on bike safety and wellness in the community. My role as outreach chair includes planning events that involve community service. In addition to being outreach chair, I have participated in the Transportation, Basketball, and Ultimate Frisbee teams at PSWC. I love the ASCE student chapter because despite coming from all different backgrounds, we unite through our common goals. ASCE has shaped my goals and given me an idea of where I want to be in ten years, through keynote speakers at meetings and the engineering-related competitions at PSWC. Join ASCE at SDSU if you want to be a part of a driven and passionate team, while pursuing what you love.
