My name is Kian Murray and I am currently a junior studying Civil Engineering. I was born and raised in Houston, TX and came to San Diego for college. I have always loved to build and create structures with my hands, from using blocks when I was little to now creating 3D models of bridges and buildings. Upon coming to SDSU, it seemed almost obvious for me to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering. I am now currently the Executive Assistant and one of the biggest duties I handle is to coordinate shadow week; a week where our members can shadow actual employers to get a perspective of the career path that our members choose. My personal goal for this year is to make sure that every single member gets to shadow the employer they want, in the field that they want to pursue. Joining the ASCE family has been a great milestone in helping me to achieve great goals for my life and to also provide plenty of internship opportunities. The best part of ASCE, in my opinion, is when we all come together to form an SDSU team and compete in numerous competitions against rivaling schools!
