Good day! My name is Kevin Ramirez Armendariz Estuardo. My position within ASCE is Concrete Canoe Project Manager. As Concrete Canoe PM, I have the responsibility of leading a team of talented individuals to create a canoe made of concrete that can move swiftly across the water. I make sure my team has the time, resource, and support they need to be able to do their best and have a fun at competition. I have been part of ASCE since my sophomore year. I am not a local, originally from the Van Nuys, CA, but I am enjoying my time here at San Diego. I am now in my third year for Civil Engineering at SDSU. The reason I chose Civil Engineering is due to my history of growing up around construction. My father is a contractor for his own small business. I originally found the industry boring, but l later found the work fulfilling and I enjoyed seeing a worn-out building become a beautiful structure that the client was excited with. Civil Engineering allowed me to keep that feeling while playing to my strengths in STEM. Outside of ASCE and university, you will either find me at my internship at NV5, hanging out with friends, or practicing guitar.
My favorite aspect of ASCE is that it has something for everybody. There are so many ways to get involved and plenty resources to help you develop your career. I am looking forward to being this year's Concrete Canoe PM, especially since I have an even more talented group of individuals backing me up. I cannot wait to show the other universities our Canoe this year at PSWS! If you have an interest in learning about concrete canoe, want to form a new connection, or just have a question you feel I can help you with please reach out! |
